Free to use
whereami is free for personal and commercial use. No API key, no account, no billing. Startups, enterprises, hobbyists - all welcome.
No attribution required
You don't need to credit whereami in your product or documentation. It's appreciated, but never required.
Fair use
There are no enforced rate limits, but please be reasonable. This is a self-funded project with no SLA. Sustained high-volume scraping or abuse may result in your IP being blocked without notice.
No reselling
You may not resell or repackage access to this API as a service. Building a product that consumes whereami data is fine. Building a product whose value is providing whereami as an API is not.
No warranty or SLA
whereami is provided as-is. There is no uptime guarantee, no support contract, and no SLA. Do not use it as the sole dependency of a critical system.
Data source
All geo-IP data is sourced directly from Cloudflare's request metadata (request.cf). Accuracy and availability depend on Cloudflare - whereami makes no independent claims about data correctness.
